Vicky & Alan
What a beautiful way to start a wedding rehearsal at Whitchurch All Hallows Church, With the flowers pre-prepared and led out in the church (by Pat Yates in Andover) with Mum of the bride explaining to me why that “all the flowers were white roses with just one single red rose because that’s how Vicky and Alan met on their first official date, Beauty and the Beast”. These lovely touches with lots of sentiment really make a wedding. (This is the first time that I have photographed this Church so I made sure that I visited it a couple of times before the big day to make sure I got all the lighting and places best to photograph), With the weather set to be a very wet day it I had to nail my back up plan and go over it with the bridal party so that everything ran as smoothly on the day as possible and everyone knew what we would be doing. (Well that was the plan anyway!).
The morning came and the weather held out nicely! The start to the day was pretty smooth, a few minor hiccups but nothing major… Kerching!!!! Michael Cape from Jason Cousins in Andover did a great job of the girl’s hair and was good fun to. At the church a beautiful poem was laid on a chair belonging to Vicky’s Grandma (who sadly passed away) and popped at the side of the aisle for her to see as she took those final few steps as a “ miss” soon to be “Mrs”. Maybe we should have popped a box of tissues there for her as well because it certainly did the trick and loving tears started to fall.
Alan’s nerves soon faded when he saw his Bride walking down the aisle in all her beauty. (Absolutely stunning Victoria)
The ceremony was lovely and so much fun. The vicar from St Thomas Charlton Church in Andover took the service and she is hilarious to say the least, we all laughed at her sense of humour. Brilliant. We knew it was going to be this much fun from the rehearsal.
Every detail was thought out even a standing board for the bride so she didn’t muddy her lovely high heels, it did the trick too!!!! An idea for any future Bride’s right there!
Many months ago we had pre-booked Whitchurch silk Mill as our chosen place to take the private photos of The Bride and Groom. Vicky and Alan made light work of this time in camera together, they are natural’s when it comes to being photographed.
We spent time creating some lovely naturel photographs here, but before you know it, it was time to get to the reception at the Winchester Hotel and spa where they were met with a sparkling glass of champagne and a red carpet. All the guests had received their bubbly by now and had spread around the hotel making light work of chatting and laughing.
With everyone now rushing to greet Vicky and Alan as they walked inside, we took this opportunity to grab some great candid shots of people. I love that they are so unaware of us taking photos. It makes great viewing when the Bride and Groom returns from their honeymoon because they are also so unaware that they were being taken they can relive their day step by step.
After cutting the cake, they went straight into the first dance (covered by DJ Chris Noon Entertainments) where everyone joined them on the dance floor and partied till early hours. Beautiful wedding Beautiful people and Beautiful day, congratulations and thank you for letting me be part of your big day .
